Volunteer
On this page you can find out about volunteering for Teesside Positive Action and, if you are interested in the work we do and wish to apply,
you can do so by following the link at the bottom of the page.
Teesside Positive Action could not function without the help of dedicated, unpaid staff to assist with the planning, implementation and the
continuous development of its services.
TPA recognise that volunteers from any background can add value to the charity and its services so our volunteer recruitment policy does not request
any formal qualifications or training - only an interest and enthusiasm in the subject area of HIV, Aids and sexual health.
Volunteers can become involved in the charity in a number of ways:
- Advice & Information
- Health Promotion promoting HIV/AIDS issues
- Education & Prevention TPA runs various stalls and events as well as providing teaching sessions
- Training
- Transport many of our clients are unable to keep medical appointments without the help of volunteers who can help them get to hospital
- Alternative Therapies Aromatherapy, Reiki and massage - available to staff and clients
- Befriending for clients requiring emotional and practical support
- Behind the scenes work admin, red ribbon folding etc.
Although volunteers are not paid a wage for the work they undertake with TPA,
they are able to gain valuable experience in health promotion, further knowledge of
sexual health issues and gain confidence in working in a client centred environment. TPA will also pay any reasonable out of pocket expenses that may be incurred as
a result of their work.
Unfortunately, due to the fact that our current volunteer compliment has been exceded, there are few if any volunteer opportunities available for new applicants and therefore we will not be able to process any further applications this year.
